Job Responsibilities:

The Director ensures that Duke-supported travel supported by UHSS is compliant with laws, regulations, Duke policies, and current industry-recognized best practices related to health and safety for off-campus programming.

--The OUE-UHSS Director of Health and Safety conducts risk assessments as needed for current or prospective Duke experiential education program locations. The Director assists OUE program managers and other administrators in mitigating identified risk factors in Duke- supported travel.

--The OUE-UHSS Director of Health and Safety serves as UHSS’s first responder to all crises abroad and at domestic sites, including after-hours calls to the UHSS 24/7/365 hotline. The Director continuously monitors the political, health, safety, and security conditions abroad in locations where faculty leaders and students are conducting Duke-sponsored travel. The Director apprises relevant University administrators of changing safety conditions abroad and recommends and manages appropriate and timely responsive actions.

--The OUE-UHSS Director of Health and Safety provides vision and leadership in ensuring that all faculty and staff members are executing and adhering to UHSS’s health and safety policies and protocols. The Director partners with Duke units and administrators (such as Student Health, CAPS, General Counsel, Student Affairs, Corporate Risk Management, and the Police Department) to plan, develop, and implement health and safety training workshops and orientation programs for faculty leaders, administrators, overseas agents, and professional groups involved in Duke-sponsored student travel.

--The OUE-UHSS Director of Health and Safety conducts regular after-action reviews following incidents in a continuous effort to identify new approaches/strategies for crisis management, and to ensure that staff and agents are following UHSS procedures and protocols.

--The OUE-UHSS Director of Health and Safety is responsible for the development and implementation of the UHSS unit budget.

--The OUE-UHSS Director of Health and Safety recruits, trains, supervises, and manages performance of assigned staff.

--The OUE-UHSS Director of Health and Safety summarizes, analyzes, and reports key trends and statistics regarding health/safety problems experienced by Duke undergraduates traveling under the UHSS umbrella, and recommend preventive actions as necessary. The Director provides timely and thorough reports to OUE management regarding systemic or particular safety concerns.

--The OUE-UHSS Director of Health and Safety secures and maintains adequate and effective systems to support diverse models of Duke-supported undergraduate travel.

--The OUE-UHSS Director of Health and Safety creates and delivers presentations to various audiences regarding UHSS’s health, safety, and security protocols. The Director responds to inquiries from constituents regarding UHSS’s health, safety, and security policies, protocols and resources.

Tufts Global Education serves as a hub of international programs and initiatives at the School of Arts & Science and School of Engineering. TGE oversees study abroad, international exchange programs, international learning collaborations, and faculty-led custom programs. We currently operate 10 of our own programs, Tufts Programs Abroad, in Chile, China, Ghana, Hong Kong, Japan, London, Madrid, Oxford, Paris, and Tübingen. The Assistant Director manages outreach, enrollment, and student advising for our Tuft Programs Abroad. Mizzou Study Abroad seeks a student-centered, innovative, highly energetic, detail oriented professional to serve as Study Abroad Coordinator. JOB SUMMARY



Responsible for the overall operation of education abroad programs including supervision of staff and direct work with students at all levels. Develops, implements, manages and markets a diverse range of education abroad programs including but not limited to faculty-led courses, affiliated programs, virtual and in-person exchanges, and internships. --The OUE-UHSS supports the OUE-UHSS Director with emergency response to crises abroad and at domestic sites, including after-hours calls to the UHSS 24/7/365 hotline. --The OUE-UHSS Assistant Director updates and maintains health, safety, and security information in UHSS publications, including faculty and student handbooks, the UHSS and program-specific websites, program-specific handbooks and resources, and other resources so that information is accurate, consistent, and easily available to stakeholders. The Assistant Director designs emergency preparedness materials for students and staff.

Description of the Position
CET Program Leaders play a key role in the Global Perspective on-site team, made up of the Program
Leader, the Local Coordinator, and the Academic Lead. This team actively supports and leads CET
students during the on-site portion of a Global Perspective program.
Pre-departure, the Program Leader works closely with the Global Perspectives Team to develop location
specific academic and reflective activities, excursions, and discussion topics, based on the core course
curriculum and learning plan. While on-site, the Program Leader is responsible for implementing these
activities and facilitating these discussions, with the support of the Local Coordinator. Their role is truly
linking the academic content from the Academic Lead (virtually) with the context in the local country and
community.
With support from the Local Coordinator and in collaboration with the homestay hosts, the Program Leader
is also in charge of student health, safety, and behavior, and stays with the students in a hostel or hotel
during the second city excursion (except DC). The majority of pre-college students are minors, so Program
Leaders must be thoroughly responsible and trustworthy with the ability to set clear expectations. A
successful Program Leader thinks on their feet and exercises good judgement in unpredictable situations.

Description of the Position
The Japan Resident Director is primarily responsible overseeing student life in Japan, such as orientation,
health and safety, student advising, and activity planning on the CET Japan portfolio of programs, which
run during the fall, spring and summer terms. The Resident Director also has duties related to custom
programs, which operate on a case-by-case basis.

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Associate Director manages and leads on short term credit programs, including the Penn Global Seminars (PGS) program in Penn Abroad. This position works closely with faculty proposing and executing courses within the PGS framework and provides strategic advising and enrollment management of the program in close collaboration with the Executive Director. Compliance and governance of PGS policies and procedures are managed by the Associate Director who will also manage the day-to-day operations of the program including the coordination of program duties and tasks to other staff members involved in the program. The position will supervise the Global Programs Manager position which is dedicated to management of the PGS program.



The Associate Director carries out a mix of program management, programming and crisis support as follows:

• Program Management: Work closely with the Global Programs Manager in preparing and updating information and materials for PGS programs within Terra Dotta; application review and student selection; and, maintain partnerships with providers, host institutions, and program-related staff and contacts abroad.

• Programming, Outreach, and Recruitment: Lead Penn Abroad initiatives for programming in short term credit programming, including developing outreach initiatives with the Global Programs Manager and Senior Manager, Marketing and Outreach to prospective education abroad students and faculty; activities include but are not limited to Penn Global Week, the Study Abroad Fair, information sessions, returned student programming, social media, marketing support, events, etc.

• Crisis Support: Collaborating with appropriate crisis response team members in the case of student emergencies abroad.

Responsible for office management including ordering supplies, requesting maintenance work, purchasing materials; assist with scheduling events, reserving rooms, promotion and outreach for all Center activities: designing marketing materials, updating the Center’s website and calendar, sending emails and maintaining social media networks.

• Plan, execute, and assess internationally-focused events for the entire campus and wider community to provide exposure to different cultures, languages, and viewpoints. Texas Tech University Office of International Affairs is seeking dedicated and dynamic candidates for the position of Program Coordinator. This position reports to the Director of Study Abroad. The Counselor’s objectives are advising students throughout the study abroad process including program selection, pre-departure, while abroad, and upon return to campus.
